A graduate of Concord Academy and Colby College, Dr. Alice Domar received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Health Psychology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Ferkauf School of Professional Psychology of Yeshiva University in 1986. Dr. Alice Domar did her post-doctoral training in Boston, MA at Beth Israel Hospital, Deaconess Hospital, and Children's Hospital.
Dr. Alice Domar is currently the Director of the Mind/Body Center for Women's Health at Boston IVF, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Alice Domar is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive biology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Alice Domar is also on the Executive Committee of the Mental Health Professional Group of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
She is the author of Healing Mind, Healthy Woman (Dell, 1997), the national best-seller Self-Nurture (Penguin, 2001), the new book Conquering Infertility (Viking, October 2002) which was named by Publishers Weekly as Best Book of 2002 in the health category, and the co-author of Six Steps to Increased Fertility (Simon and Schuster, 2000). She is also the Series Editor for the new series of mind/body books by Harvard Medical Publications/Simon and Schuster.
Dr. Alice Domar is a columnist for Health magazine, is on the advisory board for Parents magazine, and on the Board of Experts of LLuminari. She has appeared on the Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, Dateline NBC, CNN and the CBS and NBC Evening News. She presents lectures and conducts workshops throughout the United States and internationally.
