Richard Thalheimer is the founder and former CEO of The Sharper Image, and creator of RichardSolo.com. Richard Thalheimer was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and later graduated from Yale University and Hastings College of the Law.
Richard Thalheimer broke into the world of merchandising when he began selling office supplies part-time as a college student, and by 1977 this evolved into a mail order business starting with a runner's waterproof watch. The company was named The Sharper Image, and it grew over thirty years to become a 200 store chain with $800 million of sales.
After Richard Thalheimer retired from Sharper Image in 2006, the company several years later went into bankruptcy, and the stores closed.
However, his love for gadgets lives on, and after his departure from The Sharper Image, Richard Thalheimer launched RichardSolo.com, an online store of new, interesting and useful products, and most importantly, really puts customer satisfaction as its first priority. The speed and consideration for every customer concern is very satisfying for the customer.
Additionally, Richard Thalheimer serves on the Board of Trustees of the San Francisco Ballet. While he has a number of outside interests, he particularly enjoys piloting his Cessna 182. He has three children, and greatly values time with his family.
