How Murray Saved Christmas
When Santa's knocked out cold by a Jack-in-the-Boxer's walloping punch, deli-owner Murray Kleiner reluctantly agrees to take his place. The suit doesn't fit, Murray smells a bit like pickles, and there's no way he can remember the names of all those reindeer. But with the help of a pushy elf and an eager-to-believe young boy, Murray finds out that even though he's not big enough to fill Santa's suit, he's got more than enough heart to get the job done.
Santa Claustrophobia
Meet Doc Holiday. As a therapist he’s helped everyone from the Thanksgiving Turkey, with nightmares about Pilgrims, to Cupid, who’s remarkably shy for a guy with no pants! But when Saint Nick himself develops a fear of chimneys, the Doc has to round up the rest of the holiday gang to handle Christmas while Santa recuperates. The challenges become obvious when the Easter Bunny paints all the toys pastel colors, Lincoln and Washington fight over who’s in charge, Columbus insists he must sail west to go east to make the deliveries, and the April Fool manages to do everything wrong! Christmas is out of control, and it’s clear that only one person can set things right. . . .
Santa's Eleven Months Off
What does Santa do with his hard-earned vacation time? The same stuff you would do to relax and have fun and a whole lot more! In this uproarious tale by popular author and Simpsons writer Mike Reiss, Santa recovers from a hectic December by embarking on an hilarious campaign of adventure and self-improvement from sumo wrestling, to international espionage, to continuing education (including Elf Esteem and Basic Reindeer Labor Laws). But no matter where he goes or what he does, he’s still our beloved Santa Claus, as Michael Montgomery’s comically classic illustrations reveal. So, thanks, Santa, for all your hard work. Go ahead and take the year off!
